Tap Not Turning Off
Turn off your water supply, which you can find at the water meter. Your meter will either be at the front of your home or located as a separate isolation valve for units. To turn off the valve, turn it clockwise.
Burst Water Pipe
Turn off your water supply if safe, and move any appliances, electrical devices, children and pets away from the problem pipe.
Blocked Sewer
Limit your water use to prevent any increased overflow, and clear the affected area to minimise damage.
Leaking Roof
Find something to catch the water to avoid damage to your home. Be mindful of the location of the leak. If it’s close to electricals, you’ll also need to call an electrician. Storm damage can cause serious leaks, and if this is the case we advise you to call the SES on 132 500.
Hot Water Or Gas Emergency? Don’t Panic:
Burst Electric Water Heater
Turn off the power to your system. You’ll find a stop tap in your meter or fuse box, turn it clockwise to turn off the power.
No Hot Water (Electric System)
Make sure your hot water switch is on by checking your fuse box.
No Hot Water (Gas System)
Make sure your gas switch is on and your cylinder is not empty.
Gas Leak
Immediately, turn off your gas supply and any appliances. If safe, open all doors and windows in your home to provide ventilation.
