The process
How We Find and Fix It
01
Safe Isolation
We isolate the gas supply at the meter and confirm the property is safe to enter before any detection work begins.
02
Electronic Gas Detection
Calibrated electronic gas detectors scan all appliances, fittings, joints, and pipe runs to identify the source of the leak.
03
Pressure Testing
We pressure-test the gas system to confirm the leak location and assess the integrity of the full installation.
04
Repair or Isolation
The leaking section is repaired or isolated. We won't restore gas supply until the system passes a full pressure test.
05
Compliance Certificate
All gas work is completed to AS/NZS 5601 standards. You receive a compliance certificate confirming the system is safe.
Licensed Gas Fitter — Licence No. 230095C
All gas work is carried out to AS/NZS 5601 standards by a licensed gas fitter. A compliance certificate is issued on completion of every gas job — required for insurance and property sale.

Common questions
Gas Leak FAQs
What should I do if I smell gas?
Leave the building immediately without using any switches or appliances. Turn off the gas at the meter if it is safe to do so. Do not use your mobile phone inside. Call 000 if there is immediate danger. Once you are outside and safe, call us on 0487 810 593 — we respond to gas emergencies 24/7.
How do you detect a gas leak?
We use calibrated electronic gas detectors that can identify gas concentrations far below the level detectable by smell. We scan all appliances, fittings, flexible hoses, and pipe runs. We also pressure-test the system to confirm the leak location and check the integrity of the full installation.
How much does gas leak detection cost?
Gas leak detection typically costs $250–$450 and includes an electronic scan and pressure test. If a repair is needed and you proceed with us on the same day, we apply the detection fee toward the repair.
Can you fix the leak on the same visit?
In most cases, yes. We carry common gas fittings and pipe materials on the van. Simple repairs — leaking joints, corroded fittings, faulty flexible hoses — are usually fixed in the same visit. More complex repairs involving buried pipe may require a follow-up.
Is a compliance certificate required after a gas repair?
Yes. All gas work in NSW must be carried out by a licensed gas fitter and a compliance certificate issued. This is required for insurance purposes and is essential documentation if you sell the property. We issue the certificate as part of every gas job.
What causes gas leaks?
The most common causes are corroded or damaged pipe fittings, deteriorated flexible hose connections on appliances, poorly installed or aged appliance connections, ground movement affecting buried gas lines, and DIY work carried out without a licence. Regular gas system checks every 2–3 years are recommended.
